First Pictures of Sophie

Sorry these pictures are out of order! The first picture is Stacy and Sophie with Sophie enjoying our "baby crack" those banana gerber cereal snacks. The second picture is Stacy with Sophie after 5 minutes. Sophie pretty much cried solidly the first 45 minutes we got her, until we could get her the baby crack. The third picture is when Stacy first got Sophie from the orphanage director and the woman in orange is our guide, Joanna. The next picture is a moment between tears and the final picture is back on the bus with the snacks.

Sophie calmed down on the bus and took a nap in the hotel room. She is expecting a visit from the pediatrician this afternoon. Tomorrow Stacy has to go for an interview to explain her plans for keeping and raising Sophie. Stacy has some free time on Wednesday. Our goal right now is to make sure we can figure out the correct proportions for the formula and get Sophie through all the appointments the next few days. The orphanage directions for formula said a ratio of 2:9 with the 9 being the rice cereal. We all think that is too thick, Joanna said the ratio should be 2 rice 9 milk but that is not thick enough, so we are experimenting.

The orphanage gave us a baby book with pictures of Sophie and the orphanage. We are really excited about it, the first picture is of Sophie at 2 months. Stacy will scan in the pictures when she returns. Sophie likes some of the toys but is still in the early adjustment phase. We hope she will sleep tonight.

The blackberry is not working so our posting will be sparse. Hopefully it will work in Guangzhou. Some other people have computers that we are trying to borrow, but obviously all the families have their own communications to send.

Jen
